Day 6-Dresser Drawers

I decided to tackle my daughters dresser drawers. I knew there were some clothes in there that she has outgrown and we needed to box up and put in storage. I was hoping this would be a quick and easy one, but it turned into a really long one. On most days, I do the challenge at nap time or after bed, but couldn't do that today. I got a good 10 minutes while my daughter played with daddy, and I had all her shirts neatly folded and laying there. After the 10 minutes, she decided she wanted to help. I got the top drawer done, and turned around and all my nice neatly folded clothes were thrown all over the floor!

This dresser is really old! I believe it started out as my sisters, then mine, and now it's my daughters!
Here's a pic of the top drawer. It's got all sorts of headbands and hair things, shoes that don't fit anymore, socks, etc.
Here it is more organized. All the shoes that don't fit got put into a container to store. I put all the hair stuff in a small container, but this is only temporary. I am going to make a hair bow holder and that will get all but the headbands out of the drawer. Not sure what to do with the headbands, either leave them there or find something else to help store them. Next to the hair stuff I have her tights, then socks, and then onsies/shirts. I want to put dividers in the drawers. I think that would help separate things better. One step at a time, though. I am planning on getting to my dresser eventually. Maybe I'll do that Sunday when it's a free day. :)

Day 5-Under the Kitchen Sink

I knew this day was coming, and I have to say I was dreading it. Under the sinks are my least favorite places!

Here is my before: Basically stuff just thrown in there. If you notice, there is a stash of plastic bags. They were intended to be used for garbage bags, but somehow just sat there. I kinda forgot they were back there! I have another stash in the pantry that I actually use!
 After:
Out went the bags, and the cleaners went into a bucket to help keep them in place. I really hate how the pipes and garbage disposal are! I wish I could change it, but it's going to have to stay! I finally have a place for my step stool! It's been floating around from place to place, but I think I will keep it here from now on. I got the idea from visiting little raindrops blog. I was going to put some shelf liner on the bottom, but forgot until after I was all done. I may still do it later.

Mail Box

Mail at my house as always just gone, where ever. I have always hated that! I would lose bills and never knew where my husband put the mail when he got it. So I decided that we needed a place to put our mail.  I found this at a wood store up in Salt Lake when we were visiting, and new I had to have it!
So I painted it a chocolate cherry color. I wanted a key holder as well, so I put these knobs on it and painted them as well. I used my cricut and cut some vinyl in a cute font and put that on as well.

So, here it is: my Mail/key holder! I love it! Now I always know where the mail is.

Day 4-The Linen Closet

Here is my linen closet before: I have a bunch of craft stuff on the top shelf, the middle shelf is blankets and towels, and the bottom shelf is towels. The place we rent is pretty old. When we moved in, I put shelf liners on the shelves, so that is the white you are seeing on the bottom of the shelves. I didn't want to do contact paper because, well, I'm renting.

Here is my after: All the blankets were moved to the top shelf. The middle shelf has some towels, and the bottom shelf has the rest of the towels. I probably could still get rid of some. The bottom shelf still looks a little messy to me. Guess I'll have to fix it more. :)
I figured that as long as I was doing the linen closet, I might as well do our game closet, too. The top shelf is a bunch of stuff that really just got shoved there because I had no idea where else to put it. The bottom shelf is where we keep all our games.

I decided to move the games to the top shelf and organize them better. The green basket holds card games. I actually did get rid of a few games!
The bottom shelf is where I put the craft stuff that was in the linen closet. I also have the gift bags and tissue paper on the side, and our picnic basket. My husband didn't even know we had the basket until I reorganized it. He told me we should go on a picnic in the spring.
Here is the after shot of the game closet.

Day #3 ~ Getting Organized Challenge (The Messy Tupperware Cabinets)

 Here is my before pic.
And here it is again with my cute girl trying to climb in.
Here is the after pic! This drawer is a hard one to keep organized. My daughter likes to play in it while I'm cooking. It's the only drawer I let her play in since nothing can hurt her and she can't hurt them.

21 Day Challenge-Day 2-Top of Computer Desk

This picture is kind of embarrassing! Our computer desk is pretty much where everything gets put in the process of going to where it really belongs.
Here is what the desk looks like after!

21 Day Challenge-Day 1- The Junk Drawer

I fully intended on having this completed and posted yesterday, but something happened to prevent it. I cleaned out my drawer, and as I was wiping it down, the drawer fell off its track and the front of the drawer broke off. So, my husband grabbed the wood glue and glued it back together, but I had to wait until it was dry to finish organizing it. My junk drawer has been a place that we, especially my husband, puts anything to get it out of the way. I sorted through the stuff in the drawer and threw out a bunch! I got some plastic bins to hold the things I was keeping.
